Account data: Email address, name, and authentication details when you register.

Content you submit: Text, URLs, or files you upload for roasting. This is stored to generate and display your roast report.

Payment data: Payments are processed by Ozow. We store transaction references and payment status only — we never store card or banking details.

Usage data: We collect anonymous analytics on how the Service is used to improve it (page views, feature usage). No personal data is shared with analytics providers.

We use your data solely to: provide and improve the Service; process payments; send transactional emails (roast reports, payment confirmations); and communicate important updates about your account.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your submitted content to train AI models.

We retain your roast history and account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing privacy@roastmyidea.com.

Payment transaction records are retained for 7 years as required by South African tax law.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Access to user data is restricted to authorised personnel only.

While we take security seriously, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use the Service.

Ozow: Payment processing. Subject to Ozow's privacy policy.

AI providers: We use third-party LLM APIs to generate roast content. Your submitted content is transmitted to these providers solely to generate your roast, subject to their data processing agreements.

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; object to processing; and request deletion. Contact us at privacy@roastmyidea.com to exercise any of these rights.

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
